Newtown Congregational Church will be cooking up chicken and shrimp dinners for a fundraising event later this month.

On Saturday, October 24, pickups will be scheduled between 5 and 7:30 pm at the church, 14 West Street.

Chicken, shrimp, or chicken and shrimp dinners — all including the entrée(s), plus salad, roll, butter, and dessert — will be prepared and boxed up by members of the church. Cost is $20 for each chicken and shrimp dinner, $18 for shrimp dinners, and $15 for each chicken dinner.

Reservations must be made in advance, and will include a 15-minute window during which diners are asked to pick up their meals.

All proceeds will benefit Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Miss., and its ongoing fight again the effects of poverty, disease, and hurricanes in the Gulf Region. NCC has been actively supporting the mission since 2006.
