The Newtown Middle School PTA has scheduled drives for new and gently worn used shoes for Saturdays, October 10 and 17, from 2 to 4 pm at the school, 11 Queen Street.

The drive will raise funds for the organization.

Those donating are asked to drive up and volunteers will take the items from there.

Kids shoes, adult shoes, boots, dress shoes, sneakers, and all other types of shoes will be accepted, according to a flyer for the event.

The shoes collected from the drive will provide inventory for micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries to help create economic sustainability.
