Newtown Health District Announces 31st Community Health Fair

Newtown Health District invites all readers to attend the 31st Community Health Fair on Saturday, October 10, 9 am-noon at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street. This free community event offers a wide range of health and wellness services for all ages.

There will be free, accessible wellness checks for attendees of all ages, flu shots administered by Housatonic Valley Health District (attendees should bring their insurance card), car seat safety checks provided by Rotary Club of Newtown, and veteran services from the US Department of Veteran Affairs (veterans must bring DD-214 or discharge papers to sign up).

Other participants, of which there are several, include Beyond Brushing, Danbury Elderly Services, Newtown Department of Human Services, Dr Della Schmid, Friends of Newtown Seniors (FONS), Home Instead, Kevin’s Community Center, Nancy Ziegler/Medicare education, Newtown Cares, Newtown Police Department, Newtown-Strong Therapy Dogs, Porco’s Karate Academy, Teachers Unify to End Gun Violence, The Gym Newtown, and Wheel It Forward.
