Anthony A. Suttile

Anthony A. (Kingfish) Suttile, 83, of Stamford, died on October 13 at St Camillus Health Center due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was the husband of the late Josephine M. (Ambrosio) Suttile.

He was the father of Jo-Ann Smith Dempsky of Newtown.

He was born in Stamford on October 7, 1916, the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Dorrico) Suttile. He resided in Stamford all his life.

In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a son, Anthony A. Suttile, Jr, of Oshkosh, Wis.; four sisters, Rose Journalist, Frances Suttile, Josephine Suttile, and Helen Suttile of Stamford; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Smith) Connelly of Milford, William Smith of Newtown, and Christopher Suttile and Michelle Suttile of Cos Cob. He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Turner, and a brother, Salvatore Suttile.

A funeral procession will leave on Saturday, October 16, at 9:20 am from Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, to St Mary Roman Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr Suttile may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 607 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851.
