To the Editor:

I want to encourage you to reelect Congresswoman Jahana Hayes for the 5th Congressional District. I’m proud to be a member of Team Hayes and spend hours to help her. Here’s why. Jahana Hayes cares about us. If you call her office with a problem, she does not care if you are a Democrat or Republican. Either she or a staff member just help.

Congresswoman Hayes, a former National Teacher of the Year, is on the Education Committee. I’m on the Board of Ed, here in Washington [Conn.]. We both share this interest. We must send her back to DC, to fight against Commissioner Betsy DeVos, who wants to funnel public school funds to private schools. We need Congresswoman Hayes to fight for our kids.

Congresswoman Hayes also serves on the Agricultural Committee. I live near Averill and Starberry Farms. I want our small family farms to be around for my children and grandchildren.

I’m a member of the CT Forget Me Nots for POWs and MIAs, a military Mom, and daughter of a WWII veteran. Congresswoman Hayes has told me that she is interested not only in these brave Americans, but their families too.

These are some of my personal reasons. Please join me in voting for Jahana Hayes on November 3rd.
