Newtown High School's football game will now take place at 7 pm on Thursday, October 15. The game was bumped up a day due to anticipated rain and thunderstorms on Friday. The boys' soccer game versus Bunnell of Stratford, originally scheduled for Thursday night, will now precede the football game with a 4 pm start. Both games will take place at Blue & Gold Stadium.

The games need to be played at NHS due to unplayable turf conditions at Treadwell Park's front field, NHS Athletic Director Matt Memoli said.

The football team will host Notre Dame Prep of Fairfield. This is the program's Youth Night, honoring the youngest football and cheerleading squads in town, and also its Pink Out game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Proceeds from Pink Out shirt sales and donations benefit the Healing Hearts bereavement program at Regional Hospice.
