To the Editor:

I am writing to support Steve Hinden’s reelection to the Board of Finance.

In any election, but particularly a local one, candidates should be chosen based on experience, common sense, dedication to the community, and commitment to expressed values. In his professional career and his Board of Finance tenure, Steve has demonstrated all those qualities.

He has successfully applied his law degree in leadership positions in multiple corporate business environments. He has diligently served Newtown through his Board of Finance responsibilities, strongly expressing his views based on facts and considering input from all sources. And he has consistently supported a strong education budget, recognizing the value of the school system to the entire town.

I know Steve to be very intelligent, dedicated, and good-humored. He will continue to be an asset to Newtown’s government, and I urge you to vote for him on November 5.
