Residents are being advised about additional COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinics happening locally in the coming days.

St Rose of Lima Church will host another free walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic with Griffin Health and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) Thursday, October 21, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Holy Innocents Faith Formation Center, 38-B Church Hill Road.

All are welcome. Appointments are not needed. No one will be turned away for lack of identification or insurance, and there is no charge for the vaccine.

Pfizer and J&J vaccines will be administered. Connecticut’s COVID-19 Vaccination Van will be parked outside the hall where the clinic will be held.

The highly visible yellow vans, provided by the DPH and run by Griffin Health, can administer 100 to 125 shots in a six-hour window.

The DPH reminds Connecticut residents that choosing to get vaccinated is an additional powerful tool in the fight against the COVID-19 virus.

Flu Shots

Two upcoming flu shot clinics will welcome walk-ins and entire families who want to get protected.

Newtown Health District Director Donna Culbert told The Newtown Bee this week that a Saturday, October 16, session from 9 am to noon at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street, is an ideal opportunity for entire families to show up and receive their annual flu vaccines together.

Another public clinic will also welcome walk-ins on Wednesday, October 20, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street within Fairfield Hills. That weekday clinic is scheduled for 9 to 11 am, according to the local health official.

Those with health plan coverage should bring their insurance cards. Anyone with questions may contact the health district offices at 203-270-4291. RVNA currently has another flu and pneumonia clinic scheduled in town this season, in November, and additional clinics across the region.

Residents are being advised about free, walk-in COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinics happening locally in the coming days.
