‘Causes, Battles, And Equipment Of The American Revolution,’ Sunday Afternoon
For those who, after witnessing several America 250 celebrations, still do not have the answer as to how a young country was able to defeat the most powerful country in the world, Newtown Historical Society’s next guest speakers will try to answer that question.
Historian and Revolutionary War reenactor Jim Howson, assisted by high school student Brodie Dugas, will present "Causes, Battles, and Equipment of the American Revolution” on Sunday, October 18.
The two will be at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. Their presentation will begin at 2 pm.
Dressed in soldier garb, Howson and Dugas will share things many people may find surprising about the daily life of the soldier, his uniforms, weapons, and close calls.
This is a free event, however, donations for the historical society will be gratefully welcomed in order to continue offering events such as this.
