FONS To Host ‘A Purposeful Life: Finding Meaning And Direction At Every Age’
Friends of Newtown Seniors will host “A Purposeful Life: Finding Meaning and Direction at Every Age” with Dr Bradley Wright, PhD, on Thursday, November 5.
In the interactive event, Wright, a professor of sociology at University of Connecticut and founder of Life Purpose Lab, will draw on his research on purpose, meaning, and life change to explore how people build a sense of purpose. The session will combine accessible research, practical reflection, and a guided purpose-finding exercise designed for people at many stages of life.
The program is suitable for everyone age 13 and over. It will begin at 5:30 pm at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street.
During the two-hour event, participants will be invited to think about where purpose comes from, what can get in the way of it, and how new possibilities can emerge even during times of uncertainty, transition, or change.
Wright’s scholarly work focuses on how people find meaning, direction, and purpose in their lives. Drawing on decades of research and teaching, he helps people understand the sources of purpose, identify possible futures, and take practical steps toward lives marked by clarity, contribution, and hope.
There is no charge for the November 5 program, but reservations are required and available by sending an e-mail to info@friendsofnewtownseniors.org or visiting Zeffy.com.
