To the Editor:

For quite a few years, I have been reaching out to many of you on behalf of my daughter Rebekah Harriman-Stites. I do this not just because she is my daughter, but more importantly, because I know she can make a difference in the community she lives in and for every person in Connecticut.

From a very young age it was apparent that Rebekah would always gravitate towards a leadership role. She always stepped up to take on this role in both formal and informal settings. Her ability to compose her thoughts in a meaningful way and her comfort with speaking to audiences of all sizes and demographics made her a natural and eloquent speaker. She has always debated issues and has been able to influence and create fellowship amongst her peers as well as opponents.

Her self-discipline continues to be a driving factor in her desire to take on whatever is needed to get the job done. Rebekah listens to all sides of an issue and not only listens to the words but her empathetic nature allows her to understand where they are coming from. She has wisdom to look beyond a popular opinion and understands the importance of being humble and willing to seek advice. She always takes the necessary actions for change even though it is not always an easy path.

Perhaps the trait that I am most proud of is Rebekah’s courage. Rebekah has faced many challenges in her life. She has always had the strength of heart to move forward fearlessly and not settle for anything less than giving her all!

For all these reasons, Rebekah has earned the role to become your next State Representative. She has all of the qualities of a great leader and more. She will never let you down.

Sincerely,

Lucille Harriman
