To the Editor:

We need to focus on electing intelligent, compassionate, hard-working candidates. We don’t need to be divisive.

Mitch Bolinsky has spent eight years working for us in the Capitol and here in Newtown. As many can attest, he answers anyone who contacts him. His return e-mails are often as late as midnight and as early as 4 am. He is a respected leader in the Legislature, having now earned top spots on the Appropriations Committee, Aging, plus the Education/Special Education committees.

He’s known for building relationships and “crossing the aisle.” He has a solid relationship with Dan Rosenthal, our First Selectman, frequently calling to discuss issues impacting our town. He is in regular contact with Gov Lamont and his staff, always working to serve his constituency.

This is not a popularity contest. We need to choose a proven person. Mitch is super savvy, connected, and a relentless worker. He’s never voted to raise taxes — and in a team effort — helped strike down the highway toll concept. He invariably delivers. Everyone in this town should be voting for Mitch Bolinsky.
