To The Editor:

The greatest honor of my life has been serving you as State Rep for the last 14 years.

Today, I respectfully write to ask again for your vote so I can continue to serve you with caring and integrity that matters at a time when national politics serves mainly to divide us. Throughout, my focus has never wavered from Newtown. I’m present for our neighbors, listening, pitching-in and sharing your frustrations 24/7.

Caring, finding solutions, answering the phone and messages when needed, isn’t a 9-to-5 job, particularly in a state government that stopped responding long ago. The supermajority in Hartford serves only special-interests and itself. It taxes us and gives pennies back. Together, we can work to fix a broken system.

We may not agree on everything, but, truth be told, if we sat for a conversation, we’d find we have more in common than not. It begins with a kind word. I get lots of those from folks I’ve work with, not so much from strangers who don’t know me or my values, but spread false judgments. The old “Stick & Stones” line comes to mind, then I focus myself back to working on issues with care and motivation to move us all forward and make things happen for the better.

With your vote, I will continue working to:

Repeal Hartford’s supermajority-siege of LOCAL ZONING & get the state working on our ancient, 65+ year-old highways & infrastructure.

Eliminate the abuse of unbudgeted spending hiding in PUBLIC BENEFITS.

Restore ECS: fully funded, inflation-protected, and end unfunded mandates.

Complete CT’s roll-out of statewide AGING-IN-PLACE supports and choice, including field-based resources and help for Caregivers.

Keep supporting Law Enforcement, Responders, & honoring our Veterans.

It’s an honor to serve you and Newtown!

Representative Mitch Bolinsky
