Dr Ratna Vedullapalli, of Diamond Dental, and Newtown Lions Club will present their second annual Veterans Day Free Clinic on November 11 for patients who need basic dental care but lack sufficient insurance coverage or resources.

This year, in recognition of their service, priority scheduling is reserved for veterans and COVID-19 essential workers — people who have been required to work in high-risk jobs during the pandemic — and their family members. In addition to new patients, patients who received care at the 2019 Diamond Dental Veterans Day Free Clinic are also invited to schedule appointments.

Any openings still available beginning November 4 will be available to other patients who need basic care.

The free 30-minute basic dental care appointments will include an exam, X-rays, cleaning, fluoride treatment, and if needed, fillings and simple extractions as time permits. Prospective patients who need more extensive dental care are invited to contact Diamond Dental to explore other options.

Veterans Day appointments are limited, so interested patients should call Lion Mary Jo Brett at 203-270-1053 soon. Priority scheduling will continue through November 3, but on November 4 any open appointments will be available for other patients.

The last day to schedule an appointment is November 9.

Newtown Lions Club is again proudly supporting Dr V’s generous effort by providing appointment scheduling and other support.

Dr V is a member of the Lions Club and has a long history of community service. Before moving to Newtown and opening Diamond Dental, she frequently volunteered in Connecticut’s CT Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic (CTMOM).

Now in Newtown, she likes to show appreciation to the local community. On November 11 Dr V will be joined by other Diamond Dental volunteers, including Dr Kelvin Wang, and other staff who share her passion for service and gratitude to veterans and COVID-19 essential workers.

Diamond Dental is located at 274 Main Street in Newtown. Contact Diamond Dental at info@diamonddentalct.com or call 203-403-2428.
