*Sandy Hook’s own classic rock band FOG will roll into 100 Church Hill Road for their annual Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, October 28.

The band’s repertoire covers favorites from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Deep Purple and others.

Fog’s members are George Greytak of Sandy Hook on drums, Jason Benson of Sandy Hook on keyboards and guitar, Ian Kelly of Norwalk on guitar and Roger Munford of Weston on bass.

The show starts at 10 pm and in his note to let me know to let you readers know about this show, Jason hints at a possible breakup.

The band, he said, is hoping “for a great turnout as this may be your last chance to hear them play.” Oh dear…

*If they’re available, tickets will be sold at the door for tonight’s “Another Night of Woodstock in Newtown,” a benefit performance for listener-supported radio stations WPKN (89.5 FM) and WPKM (88.7 FM) with JOHN SEBASTIAN headlining. The concert will be in the auditorium at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, beginning at 7:30 pm.

Mr Sebastian, the former leader of The Lovin’ Spoonful, returns to Newtown to lead a show that will also feature acoustic guitar and folk legend ARTIE TRAUM and PROFESSOR LOUIE & THE CROMATIX. The Crowmatix will feature special guest JOHN PLATANIA, the veteran guitarist who has played with Van Morrison, Randy Newman and Chip Taylor.

Tickets are $30 and will be sold at the door. For last-minute information, call 203-331-9756 or go to wpkn.org.

*Three-time Grammy winner BRUCE HORNSBY will make a repeat performance November 15 at The Ridgefield Playhouse.

For tickets ($80 orchestra, $75 mezzanine) and further information about The Playhouse, call the box office at 203-438-5795 or go to RidgefieldPlayhouse.org.

*New additions this week for The Webster Theater in Hartford include another show by SEBASTIAN BACH (I love that the club, and I’m sure Bach’s management, continue to plug him as “of Skid Row,” but I can’t look at him any longer without thinking of his ongoing stint on The Gilmore Girls) on November 7; THE CULT and Bangkok Five on November 11; NEKTAR on November 17; and ARMY OF ANYONE on November 20, featuring Richard Patrick of Filter and Dean and Robert Deleo of Stone Temple Pilots.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road, and if their plans don’t get changed again then join me in welcoming home the soldiers of Connecticut Charlie Company 1st Battalion 25th Marines, who were due to arrive at the Armory in Hartford on Wednesday night. Among those soldiers being welcomed home was Newtown’s own Andrew Rudolph.

Welcome home, soldier.
