To the Editor:

As this year’s National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Month comes to an end, our family would like to thank First Selectman Dan Rosenthal, Edmond Town Hall, The Newtown Bee, and the wonderful people of Newtown for supporting our efforts to raise awareness of how miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss deeply affect so many people in our town, in our country, and across the world. We have been moved by all the kind and thoughtful comments in response to the blue and pink lights at town hall, The Bee’s article, and the Northern Fairfield Virtual Wave of Light that was organized to honor babies gone too soon.

We are grateful to live in a community that encourages us to shine a light on a topic that is often shoved into a dark corner. We hope that other Newtown families also on this journey have found new connections and felt the town’s love and support as well. Thank you again for allowing us to speak their names!
