To the Editor:

We are delighted to endorse Alison Plante for a second term on the Legislative Council representing District 3.

We first met Alison when we moved to Newtown and our kids attended the same daycare. Our children are now in elementary school together and we have come to know Alison and her family quite well over the years.

Alison is hardworking and extremely intelligent and we knew that Newtown was gaining a real asset when she was elected to the Legislative Council back in 2019. Alison’s ability to remain objective while hearing all sides, understand the details as well as the big picture, and weigh the current and future financial implications makes her the perfect candidate to represent our community and is exactly the voice we want representing us on the council.

We have seen Alison’s dedication to the position and her love of Newtown firsthand. We trust that all decisions that come across her desk will be fully vetted with Newtown’s best interests in mind. Let’s all support Alison as she seeks re-election to represent District 3 on the Legislative Council so she can continue to be a positive voice for the current and future state of our town.
