Elm Drive Crash

Police report a two-car accident at the intersection of Elm Drive and Country Club Road about 6 pm October 27.

Police said motorist Brian J. Cascone, 18, of 37 Turkey Hill Road was driving a 1993 Mazda MX-6 northbound on Elm Drive about 35 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone, when motorist Lori Ann Lippi, 39, of 29 Platts Hill Road, who was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango, failed to grant the right of way at a stop sign on Country Club Road to the oncoming Mazda, resulting in a collision.

There were no injuries.

Police issued Lippi a written warning for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Police issued Cascone a written warning for traveling at an unreasonable speed.

Rear-End Collision

 Police report an accident between a pick-up truck and a sport-utility vehicle about 2 pm October 28 at the intersection of Toddy Hill Road and Route 34 in Sandy Hook.

Police said motorist Roberta Doles, 31, of Monroe, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, had stopped at a red light at the intersection.

Motorist Michael D. Johnston, 46, of 22 Oakview Road, who was driving a 1985 Chevrolet pickup truck, struck the rear end of the Blazer, police said. There were no injuries.

Police said they issued Johnston a misdemeanor summons on charges of following too closely and failure to have automotive insurance.
