Gloria M. Snyder, 90, a resident of Walnut Tree Community, Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William R. Snyder. She is survived by her sister, Justine Pavelites, of Clearwater Fla.; her daughters, Patricia Marthouse (Stephen) of Chambersburg, Penn., and Susan Nottingham (Derek), Waldorf, Md.; her sons, William Snyder (Diane) of Ossining, N.Y., Thomas Snyder (Pamela) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Paul Snyder (Cathy) of Newtown; and her 13 grandchildren.

Gloria was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on February 28, 1930. She married William Snyder in 1956 and created a beautiful family for five children in their Brooklyn home. They moved the family to White Plains, N.Y., in 1976 and lived there for 28 years before moving to Sandy Hook. She was a woman of great faith and was very active at St Rose. Gloria and her husband also owned a log cabin in Speculator, N.Y., for 50 years, where they vacationed and entertained many relatives and friends. Her grandchildren still enjoy the cabin and will for years to come.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church on Saturday, November 7, at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
