Free Concert By Jazz Guitarist Joshua Breakstone,

Nov. 12

BROOKFIELD — Internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist Joshua Breakstone will perform at The Brookfield Library on Sunday, November 12, at 3 pm.

Mr Breakstone’s playing has been described as “fire in velvet” and he has been praised for his “sunny melodicism and his bright, rounded tone.” He made his first recording in 1979 and has released almost twenty recordings of original compositions, mixed with standards, since then.

A colleague has said of him” “He has his own approach to playing, his own sound, his own concept of time, his own unique concept of the music. A lot of us can play like somebody else, but the true mark of an artist is when they have their own identity.”

Mr Breakstone will be performing as part of a trio, which will include Eliot Zigmund on drums and Lee Hudson on bass.

The performance will be part of The Brookfield Library’s fall concert series. Admission is free and a reception will follow the program.

The library is at 182 Whisconier Road (Route 25). For more information, contact The Brookfield Library Community Services Department, 775-6241 extension 104.
