Workshops Planned

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown is offering a few all-day workshops this season.

Each will run from 9 am to 4 pm in the lower room at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). The price for each day is $50 and space is limited.

Frank Federico from Goshen will be the instructor for the workshop on Saturday, November 4. Mr Federico will be demonstrating in pastel at the beginning of the day, but students are welcome to work in the medium of their choice. He is a consistent award-winning artist and popular national and teacher.

Melody Asbury will be conducting her workshop on Saturday, November 18. This workshop will deal with figures and portraiture. Ms Asbury will demonstrate in oil, but again, students make work in any medium with instruction in that medium given by this versatile artist.

Lalit Masih, a nationally known artist from New Paltz, N.Y., will conduct a watercolor workshop on Wednesday, December 6.  Mr Masih is a Dolphin Member of the American Watercolor Society, which is a high level award distinction. His demonstrations for SCAN have been very well received.

It is not necessary to be a member of SCAN to sign up for these workshops. Pre-registration is necessary.
