Anthony Ambrogio

Anthony “Tony” Ambrogio, 66, of Sandy Hook died unexpectedly November 2. He was born September 20, 1949, in Port Chester, N.Y., and was a son of the late Ella (Carriero) and Carmen Ambrogio.

Mr Ambrogio was soul mate, husband, and partner in life for 42 years of Terri (Gorman) Ambrogio, and proud father of Stephen Ambrogio, currently residing at St John Fisher Seminary in Stamford.

He worked in the banking industry for 50 years, most recently at Connecticut Community Bank.

Mr Ambrogio was a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a longtime active member of St Rose of Lima Parish in Newtown.

He was a fan of the New York Yankees and Giants.

A brother, John Ambrogio, and wife Donna, of Greenwich; a sister, Denise Warzoha, and husband Robert, also of Greenwich; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved spending time with Uncle “Ton” survive him.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Thursday, November 5. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 6, at 11 am, at St Rose of Lima Church. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
