Christopher T. Downer

Christopher T. Downer of Greenville, South Carolina, and formerly of Newtown, passed away on October 24 of natural causes. He was born in New London to Thomas M. Downer, Jr, and Judith Adams Downer on August 1, 1963.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Jeffrey A. Downer.
Chris graduated from Newtown High School, Class of 1981. He had worked for Enviro-Master Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Paula, stepdaughter, Grace, and baby son, Jackson, of Greenville, S.C.; his mother, Judith Downer, of Newtown; his two sisters, Tonya Oberstadt of Sandy Hook and Stacey Downer Abernathy of Oklahoma; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Chris was a wonderful person and mentor. He believed in me and more importantly made me believe in myself. He pushed people to find their true potential, often before thinking about his own wellbeing. I am grateful and feel blessed to have known him. God bless is family with peace in their hearts and the strength to move forward knowing that his soul is finally resting.
