Adopt From The Animal Center

The following cats and kittens are available for adoption through The Animal Center:

SMUDGE is a happy go lucky, approximately 10-week-old Newtown rescue with tons of personality and love to give. He has long white hair with a tiny bit of grey on his forehead. Smudge adores people, other cats, and dogs. His foster family’s five year-old boy is constantly carrying Smudge around and Smudgie loves it. Smudge was rescued when he was 2 1/2 weeks old and was bottle fed until he was 5-6 weeks old. He now eats both canned and dry food and is completely litter box trained. If you are considering adopting a pair of kittens, please take a look at the kitten Tucker in The Animal Center’s program. For the past month, Smudge has been in foster care with Tucker. The boys get along very well and would love to get adopted together. Smudge is neutered, healthy, and current on vaccines.

TUCKER was rescued when he was just 4 weeks old. Animal Center officials found him outside in Sandy Hook with a terrible cold. Tucker made a speedy recovery, and today he’s a feisty kitten with a huge purr and beautiful gray eyes. His first response to anything new is to hiss, but he is very accommodating once he realizes that he’s safe. He’s being fostered in a home with a small child, other cats, and three dogs. Tucker likes to sit in your lap for a pet and prefers to have all four feet on the ground instead of being held. He’s more of an independent kitten, is eating both canned and dry food, and is completely litter box trained. For anyone considering adopting a pair of kittens, take a look at Smudge on The Animal Center’s website.  Tucker and Smudge have lived together for the past month. They get along great and would love to find a home together. Tucker is neutered, healthy, and current on vaccines.

CANNOLI is a friendly, loving, and playful kitten who adores everyone he meets. Animal Center officials rescued Cannoli and his littermates when their time had run out at a local kill shelter where they had been living. He is healthy, neutered, and current on vaccines.

LARRY, HOLLY, CAROL, KENDRA and BRIDGET were rescued by a caring Newtown resident over Labor Day Weekend. The kittens had terrible upper respiratory infections and they were living in a home that had too many cats, none of which were being cared for. The kittens have since gotten the vet care they needed and are so happy to be alive and well. They play like crazy and can’t wait to find a loving home to call their own. All of the kittens in this litter are extremely loving, affectionate, and friendly since they were handled constantly by people since they were just four weeks old.  They are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines.

Meet The Animal Center’s cats and kittens for adoption this Saturday, November 6 from 11 am to 2 pm at Your Healthy Pet (228 South Main Street, Newtown). If you wish to adopt on Saturday, be sure to fill out The Animal Center’s adoption form prior to the event, which may be found at www.TheAnimalCenter.org.

SUMMER: Looking for a friendly, loving kitty? Let a little Summer into your life. This kitty gets along great with everyone she meets and would transition easily into a new home environment. It’s hard to believe that this kitty was scheduled for euthanasia. Animal Center officials transferred her into their program after they met her at a local shelter when her time had run out. Why? Summer had just had a litter of five kittens. The shelter already had far too many kittens and there were dozens of abandoned cats needing to get into the shelter. She adores human companionship and is an easy-going cat. Summer’s kittens are grown, and it’s time for mom to find a loving home to call her own. Summer is spayed, healthy, and current on vaccines.

WINKY is the smallest of her littermates, but she more than makes up for her size by her zest for play and her intelligence. This cute kitten gets along great with children and loves to do surprise “Winky leaps” at her toys and at her brothers and sister. Winky is spayed,  healthy, and current on vaccines.

Good news: Ilytha has been adopted.

To adopt, contact info@theanimalcenter.org or 203-270-0228 (email best on weekends).
