Garner Inmates Charged With Assault
About 1 am on October 29, state police were called to Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road, to investigate a fight between two inmates.
State police said they learned that two inmates who shared the same prison cell had gotten into a physical fight during an argument within that cell. The incident caused minor injuries, state police said.
Each of the two men were arrested on a charge of third-degree assault, state police said.
Charged were: Felix Hernandez, 46, and Curtis Williams, 30, according to state police. Both men were scheduled for court appearances to answer the charges.
Hernandez is serving a 29½-year sentence on a murder conviction. Williams is serving a two-year sentence on a violation of probation conviction.
