‘Habeas Chorus:’

A Night Of Music And Mayhem

SHELTON — The YankeeMaid Chorus of Sweet Adelines International has announced plans for its newest musical comedy: Habeas Chorus…or, Tell it to the Judge.

In their latest crazy story, the chorus plays a tour group visiting the set of the television show Judging Prudence. While there, the judge is murdered, and the tour guide for the chorus – former talk show host Bonnie Banter – steps into the judge’s place because “the show must go on!” A riotous, madcap adventure unfolds as the story continues and the audience tries to figure out “who done it.”

The show will take place on Saturday, November 17, in the Shelton High School auditorium at 8 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for children age 12 and under.

A portion of the proceeds from the show, refreshments and raffle will benefit Operation Hope in Fairfield, The Anna Fund, and relief efforts in New York and Washington, DC (exact charity TBD). For more information and tickets call 203-380-8230 or 203-783-1325.

The championship YankeeMaid Chorus, celebrating over 35 years of harmony, is a dynamic, spirited group of women from 33 towns throughout greater Fairfield, New Haven and lower Litchfield counties. Under the direction of Karen Sweeters of Norwalk, the chorus is a ten-time champion of the Sweet Adelines’ North Atlantic Region #1 chorus competition.
