Appalled And Disgusted

To the Editor:

I was appalled and disgusted when I heard about the vandalism at St Rose Cemetery. My family has relatives and ancestors buried there, and we were very concerned that some of the old stones may have been damaged. My mom went down to look and ran into my oldest friend from first grade. Her mother had passed away two years ago and hers was one of the stones that was broken. They had only gotten that stone a couple of weeks ago.

The thought of one of my great-great-great-grand-whatever’s stones being damaged was bad, but poor Mary, losing her mother way too soon, and now this. And I can’t even imagine Mary’s father’s reaction. My heart goes out to them and to all of the families whose loved one’s final resting places have been desecrated.

And I hope they catch those that did this and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Anyone who would do something like this needs to be off the streets and strictly supervised. Lock ‘em up, and when they get out, make ‘em do a million hours of community service. Obviously they have not learned respect and so should not be treated with any themselves.
