Police are seeking help from the public in solving a variety of vandalism incidents that occurred during the Halloween weekend period extending from the night of Thursday, October 29, to the night of  Saturday, October 31, which was Halloween.

Sometime between 10:30 pm on October 29, and 11:30 am on October 30, someone spray painted a set of  letters at about ten spots on the exterior of Newtown Youth Academy at Fairfield Hills, police said.

The images bore the lettering RLY, with a ? symbol painted beneath the letter R, police said. Officer John McCluskey is investigating.

Overnight on October 30–31, some vandal or vandals damaged several curbside residential mailboxes alongside Old Hawleyville Road in Hawleyville. Officer Andrew Stinson is investigating.

Sometime between 10:15 pm on October 30, and 9:30 am on October 31, a vandal damaged a mailbox on Alberts Hill Road, near its intersection with Valley Field Road North. Officer McCluskey is the investigator.

 Between 9 pm on October 30, and 8 am on October 31, a vandal damaged two mailboxes on Adams Hill Lane, near Kenan Road, police report. Officer McCluskey also is investigating.

In a case of vehicular vandalism, sometime between 3 and 4 am on October 31, a vandal threw a rock through the rear window of a 1999 Lexus that was parked in a driveway on Pocono Road, near its intersection with Old Hawleyville Road, police report. Officer Stinson is investigating.

Police report incidents of assorted vandalism occurring during the early morning hours of October 31 in the area of Philo Curtis Road and Bishop Circle in Sandy Hook. Officer Michael McGowan is the investigator.

Also, police report a case of graffiti being spray painted on private property in Sandy Hook.

Sometime between 9 and 11 pm on October 31, some vandal or vandals sprayed graffiti on fencing positioned at the corner of Charter Ridge and Clapboard Ridge. Officer Robert Haas is investigating.
