Village Boutique

Returning To Trinity Church

Trinity Episcopal Church will present its annual Village Boutique on Main from 9 am until 3 pm on Saturday, November 7.

The event — featuring local merchants, skilled workers, and artisans with a wide variety of goods and services — will be a fundraiser for Trinity’s Journey To Adulthood (J2A) class. Proceeds will help cover some of the costs associated with the Confirmation class’s pilgrimage in July 2010 to Borderlands, S.D.

“We’ll have a bake sale, the kids will help set up and clean up the sale, they’ll be dressed as elves and helping with the photos with Santa booth, and they’ll be babysitting,” said Sue Vogelman, the children’s and youth minister at Trinity. “It’s their pilgrimage, so we’re letting them do a lot of work for this event. It’s important for them to learn responsibility, among other things, so they’re doing a lot of the organizing and planning.”

Admission to Village Boutique on Main is free. Onsite babysitting will be for ages 2 to 5, and a $5 donation per child is requested. The event will be rain or shine, in the church’s undercroft. Trinity is at 36 Main Street.
