The 6th Annual Young Writers’ Salon for ‘tweens and teens who like to write will be held Sunday afternoon, November 23, in the meeting room of the C.H. Booth Library, at 3 pm. Young people in grades six to ten are invited to read their original poetry, stories, and other writing in a coffeehouse atmosphere.  Snow date for the event is Sunday, December 14.

Participants must register and submit their pieces in advance by Monday, November 17. There will be a rehearsal at 1 pm on the day of the program. Sign up at the main floor circulation desk of the C.H. Booth Library, or call 426-4533. For more information, see Margaret Brown, young adult librarian. Fliers are available at the library and information is online at biblio.org/yaweb.

The Young Writers’ Salon is organized by the library’s Young Adult Council and includes special music, lighting, and décor to transform the room into a relaxed coffeehouse setting. Refreshments are served compliments of the Newtown Woman’s Club.

The Newtown community is invited to attend and enjoy the program and talent of local young writers.
