Robert J. Rosentel

Robert “Bob” J. Rosentel, 85, of Hudson, N.H., died November 6, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H., surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 2, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of Martin and Elizabeth (Finn) Rosentel.

Four children and spouses, Stephen and Judy Rosentel of Sandy Hook, Robert W. and Penny Rosentel of Nashua, N.H., William and Lynn Rosentel of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and, Elizabeth Hendrick and husband, Jeff, of Nashua, N.H.; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends survive Mr Rosentel. His loving wife Rosaria “Sadie” Rosentel; and two brothers, Martin and Edward, predeceased him.

Mr Rosentel served his country honorably during the Korean War in the US Army, and was a member of the Hudson VFW, Post 48. He ran Bingo at the Veterans Hospital for many years. He was the former commander of the Catholic War Veterans, Post 1599 in Brooklyn.

He was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and served as Grand Knight in New City, N.Y.  Mr Rosentel was active with the Hudson Seniors and loved bowling with his league.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, November 12, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson, N.H. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, November 13, at 10 am in Blessed John XXIII Parish at St John the Evangelist Church, 27 Library Street, Hudson. All visitors will meet at the church.) Burial will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, beginning promptly at 2 pm, November 13.
