Occupation: I’m currently a material handler, operating a forklift for a company in Brookfield that handles volatile liquids. I’ve been with the US Army for nine and a half years, and am in the Army Reserve right now.

Family: I have three siblings. My sister Jessica lives in East Lyme. My two brothers are Ryan and Timmy. Ryan is in Branford and Timmy is in Manhattan. My dad, George, lives in New Milford, and my mom, Tona Gaullard, lives in Florida.

Pets: I don’t have pets anymore, but I did growing up.

How long have you lived here? I grew up in Sandy Hook for 18 years, but I now live in Fairfield.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like automotive, like working on my car or washing it, or fixing it. I spend time with remote control cars, and woodworking. I golf and I fish. I like watching old black and white movies, or movies from the 1980s.

Do you have a favorite classic movie? I’m a big fan of Fatty Arbuckle, a silent film actor. I usually turn on the Turner Classic Movies channel and watch whatever is on. Most recently, though, I watched Monster University. I love the Pixair movies.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I’d love to go back to Ireland. I took my military leave to Ireland and Scotland when I was on deployment in Kuwait. The scenery there was amazing. You could drive anywhere, and you’re right next to the ruins of a 500-year-old castle.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I always loved that you could be in the woods around here, and a few minutes later in the middle of town at a deli. I’ve been all over Connecticut, and Newtown has the best delis and owner-run restaurants, hands down. There are still a lot of historic things here, too. It’s nice not to see too much change.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My grandfather. He was an artist and professor at Kent School. His paintings, and the creative aspect of his mind were incredible. He had this ability to take something and fix it. His ingenuity was amazing. I follow that to this day.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Kindness goes a long way. Try to make others feel comfortable and happy. If everyone around me is feeling good, I usually feel pretty good. I like to make people smile.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Hanging out at the canteen at the VFW is my guilty pleasure.
