Tom Mahoney: A Great Boss

To the Editor:

I am very sad to hear that my ex-boss and friend just lost his job of 40 years of faithful service at the Edmond Town Hall (The Newtown Bee, October 30, 2020, “Theatre Coordinator Released As ETH Grapples With Losses”).

This was a shock to me, along with many people of the town of Newtown and the many people who either work or worked for Tom during these 40 years at the Edmond Town Hall.

Tom was a boss very well liked. He was good to all of the people who worked at the Edmond Town Hall. Tom was always there to help or listen to any problem that you might have. Tom trained me to run the 35 mm movie projectors in the theater. I will always remember his smile.

Tom was a person who put 110 percent in his job every day for nearly 40 years of work at the Edmond Town Hall.

I cannot believe that the Board of Managers could not work something out for Tom, a faithful boss for nearly 40 years at the Edmond Town Hall.

Maybe the Board of Managers should be fired, too.
