Newtown Community Center will host a Sip ‘n Shop Event on Friday, December 3.

The event, which organizers hope will become annual, will offer participants the chance to shop from a variety of vendors, while getting to participate in wine tastings and food samplings from local restaurants to the sounds of the season. Taunton Wine and Liquors is sponsoring the event.

Over 15 wine and beer vendors will be in attendance. Sip ‘n Shop is for ages 21 and over.

“We wanted to give the community an opportunity to start shopping early, while also giving them a chance to get some of their holiday shopping done,” Community Center Director Matt Ariniello explains. “Participants will have the opportunity to purchase everything from clothing to jewelry to scarves to cookware! You will also have a chance to try a variety of wines, beers and specialty cocktails and then place orders to stock up for the holidays.”

The event will run from 6:30 until 9:30 pm at the community center, 8 Simpson Street. Admission is $20 and tickets can be purchased through eventbrite and the community center website, newtowncommunitycenter.org.

Each guest will be entered into a raffle to win a door prize from the various vendors. Friends of Newtown Community Center will also be raffling off themed baskets with donations from the various vendors.

All proceeds will go to Friends of Newtown Community Center.
