Donald T. Lutz, 86, of Manhasset, N.Y., beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on November 2, at Church Hill Village in Newtown, with his son by his side. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; daughter, Donna, and husband, Donald, of Baiting Hollow, N.Y.; and son, Douglas, and wife, Erin, and grandchildren, Brianna and Brandon, of Newtown.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 3, 1934. He graduated from Kew-Forest High School and received his degree in business from Rutgers University. He served twice in the United States Army, Intelligence Division. He was the fifth generation owner of W. Theodore Lutz & Son Funeral Home, Ridgewood, N.Y. Additionally, he served as chairman of the board of Home Federal Savings Bank. He followed in his father’s footsteps as an active member of his community. Among his many civic endeavors were: president and officer of Ridgewood Properties Owners’ and Civic Association, member of the board of trustees of Wykoff Heights Hospital, president of the Lions Club, and chairman of the board of Northfork Bank.

Private funeral arrangements were handled by Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.

He was laid to rest at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, N.Y.
