The Newtown Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Inspiring School of Music’s rebranding with a ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the Edmond Town Hall on Saturday, November 14.

Grant Ossendryver, owner of the Inspiring School of Music, originally opened the business under the Rock Elite Music Academy name four years ago and decided to transform the company’s moniker to better reflect its services.

“We’ve grown tremendously and now offer so many more services than when we first started in 2016,” Ossendryver said. “To celebrate our growth, we decided to change our name. The Inspiring School of Music name strongly reflects our entire staff’s passion for music and our commitment to utilizing the very best methods of teaching music education in 2020.”

He reiterated that the business name and logo are the only aspects that are changing.

“Our logo has a hummingbird mascot named Melody in it. She signifies the beauty and uplifting power of music. She reminds us that through music we can achieve great joy, happiness, and fulfillment by spreading our very own wings and soaring to great heights of growth and confidence. We will perform regularly in and around the community sharing and creating smiles,” Ossendryver explained.

The school will continue to have private music lessons in person and online for every instrument and voice, as well as offer instrument rentals and an online virtual orchestra. The Inspiring School of Music will also continue to be located at Edmond Town Hall by the north side entrance.

Ossendryver added, “This would not have been possible without the continued support of our students and parents, we appreciate it so much! We started out with two teachers and have grown to now six, with a combined total of 89 years [of] experience of teaching music. We genuinely love all genres of music and equally love teaching and empowering our students to soar with music.”

In addition to Ossendryver, instructors at the Inspiring School of music include Matthew Spencer, Noelle Veillette, Carolee Finney, Kevin Sandler, and Derek Currier.
