The Board of Stooges?

To the Editor:

Every week for quite a while now we have been treated to stories in the press of the constant bickering and nasty disrespectfulness the three selectmen seem to have for each other. It’s usually followed by the weekly self-serving explanation letter to the editor by either Mr Rosenthal or Mr Mangiafico pointing out that Mr Borst is apparently clueless.

I am beginning to think that Newtown is being governed by the three stooges. Where is this getting the town? What does it say to others about the town of Newtown, I wonder? I’m almost ashamed to tell people I live here. I can only hope that we soon find a few more responsible and well-behaved individuals in government and send Moe, Larry, and Curly packing at the next election.

Newtown deserves better than it is getting from these three self-serving actors we now have. I hope they understand that if we wanted to see a comedy act each week we would simply turn on our TV sets because the Stooges are better at it than our three selectmen.
