Marion Germond Kellogg, 93, of Newtown died November 28. She was born May 22, 1920, in Pittsfield, Mass., and was the wife of the late Floyd Ellsworth Kellogg.

Mrs Kellogg spent most of her early years in Stratford before moving to Trumbull and graduating from Bassick High School. She married Floyd Kellogg on July 26, 1941, at St Teresa’s in Trumbull. She worked for the Bridgeport Brass Co. before raising four children.

In 1970, she moved to Newtown to a home her husband built and remained there until 2005, when she moved onto the property of son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cheryl Kellogg.

Mrs Kellogg worked for 20 years as a secretary/bookkeeper at Century 21 in Bethel, before retiring in 1998. She loved to crochet, and family members were the recipients of many beautiful baby blankets and afghans made by her hands. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother.

She was a communicant of St Rose Church, Newtown.

In addition to her son Allen and wife Cheryl (Avery) Kellogg of Newtown, her daughter Maribeth Onofrey and son-in-law Kenneth of Sandy Hook; daughter-in-law Bridget (Meyer) Kellogg of New Milford; as well as six grandchildren, Kirsten (Kellogg) Tuz, Allen A. Kellogg, Jennifer B. Kellogg, Floyd E. Kellogg, Kenneth M. Onofrey, and Carolyn Onofrey, their spouses, and eight great-grandchildren survive her. A sister, Jean Pategas of Monroe, also survives Mrs Kellogg. She was predeceased by two sons, Floyd E. and Kenneth W., and two great-grandsons.

The family would like to thank Virginia Melasiene, Mrs Kellogg’s caregiver for 18 months, who stood by her side, giving her the most loving and best care her family could ask for.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Tuesday, December 3, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Tuesday morning, from 9 to 10:15 am.
