Saturday Night Open Mic returns Saturday, December 5, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, in The Great Room at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street. The events are designed for performers in grades 5-12. Microphones, keyboard, guitar amp and more will be available. Doors open by 7 pm for those who wish to arrive early and wait to sign up, which begins at 7:15. There is space for about 20 performers so the time limit per spot is about five minutes. Signup is first come, first serve. Those under grade 6 must have a parent or guardian present. The featured band for December is Adventure Hat; from left, above, is Robby LaPorta, Zoe Lloyd, Jenna Ehnot and Cameron Mitchell. Suggested donation is $1.
