The Garden Sunday School Bazaar will be operating for the second time this Sunday during and after Sunday school. The bazaar features inexpensive stocking stuffers and items children can purchase for their parents and siblings. The Christian Education Board and the Men’s Fellowship will be joining to sponsor a Drop-Off Christmas Party from 11 am to 2 pm for the children (3 years and older) of the Garden Sunday School. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury holds two Sunday Services at 9 and 11 am in Alumni Hall on the campus of Western Connecticut State University. On Sunday, December 5, the Rev Linda Hansen will lead “Here-and-Now Hope.” Vaclav Havel writes that “Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.” As winter approaches and the world gets darker and colder, where do we look for hope? Is it possible, as Havel suggests, to root hope in the present rather than the future? Religious Education classes for children in grades Pre-first through ninth meet at 9 am; the Senior High Youth Group meets at 11 am; and nursery care is available during both services.
