Walk Putnam Park With A Historian

REDDING — The final public event  of 2010 to be hosted by Friends & Neighbors of Putnam Park will be the group’s Annual Winter Walk.

Newtown Town Historian Dan Cruson, who has long been involved in researching the history of the state park in Redding, will lead the 45-minute walk scheduled for Saturday, December 4. Mr Cruson will describe the details of the winter encampment that took place during the Revolutionary War. Reenactment soldiers will accompany the group.

The walk starts at 11 from the park’s Visitors Center, which will open at 10 am. The event is free but donations will be accepted. Refreshments will be served.

Putnam Park is located at the junction of Routes 107 and 58. For additional information call Scott Stetler at 203-742-0089.
