William Curtis “Will” Kendrick III, 62, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully December 3, at Regional Hospice in Danbury, with his beloved Holly by his side. He was born August 9, 1956 in Arcadia, Fla., son of the late Margaret Jean (Nelson) and William Curtis Kendrick, Jr.

Mr Kendrick worked as a senior automation programmer for Environmental Controls of West Hartford. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed kayaking, skiing, cycling, hiking, and photography. Mr Kendrick and Holly enjoyed traveling the world, and he was known to never meet a stranger. His loved ones say, “His smile was infectious, and you were immediately drawn to his humble spirit and the light of Christ from within.”

His wife, Holly Kendrick; brother, Lee Kendrick; sister, BettyJean (Kendrick) Legg; children, Brandon Kendrick, Matthew Kendrick, Leah Kendrick, Leslie (Kendrick) Stieber, and Lauren Kendrick; grandchildren, Dylan Kendrick, Austin Kendrick, Grace Kendrick, Michael Kendrick, Justin Kendrick, Hailey Kendrick, Vinson Kendrick, Kaylin Stieber, and Cole Kendrick; and a niece and nephew survive him.

Holly wants to send a special thanks to Lisa Taylor; Dr Michael Cohenuram; the staffs at Praxair Cancer Center, Smilow Cancer Hospital Yale New Haven and Trumbull, and Regional Hospice of Danbury; as well as many friends and family members.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr Kendrick will take place Saturday, December 8, at 10 am, in Grace Family Church, 174 Mount Pleasant Road, Newtown.
