Another Successful Holiday Festival

To the Editor:

On a crisp and sunny December 3rd, the 15th Annual Holiday Festival was held on Newtown’s beautiful Main Street with close to two thousand people enjoying the events. For almost a full year, members of the Holiday Festival Committee and staff have worked diligently attending to thousands of details in order to make the Festival the success it has become. We would like to thank the following members of the committee for their outstanding dedication and contribution in support of the Family Counseling Center’s major fundraiser: Jane Audet, Joan Bird, Maureen Birden, Terry Blackmer, Lisa Buccino, Rose Buckens, Pat Capito, Kim Connolly, Noreen Darigo, Linda Elsenhans, Gail Hickey, Jill Hindes, Lynn Hungaski, Shelley Kappauf, Melissa Kraycir, Laurie Madaus, Carol Mahoney, Pat Marshall, John Martocci, Arlene McCarthy, Pam McLaughlin, Glenn Nanavaty, Jan Neuberger, Kim O’Reilly, Barbara Patrick, Beverly Palo, Susan Ruddock, Laura Santarpia, Vickie Santore, Barbara Selleck, Lisa Simoes, Kathryn Simonds, Nicole Stampp, Anne Stein, Leslie Trudell, Laurie Tyll, Bruce Walczak, and Kim Weber.

The financial sponsors of this year’s Festival were Emily Bailey PsyD, Faith Catlin MSW, Century 21, Fleet Bank, Holcolm Fuel, Constance Huntington LCSW, Mary Huntington, Misty Morning Day Care, Newtown Savings Bank, Prudential Realty, Gary Schleiter, MD, Sippin Fuel, Tendler Real Estate, and Western CT Federal Credit Union.

Thank you especially to the homeowners who graciously opened their homes as part of the historic house tour: Brid Craddock and Harvey Pessin,  Peggy and Harold Gross,  Peter and Teddy Jameson, and Shane and George Miller. These homes were exquisitely decorated by Newtown Country Mill and Garden Center, Newtown Florist, Petal Pushers, and Lexington Gardens.

Thank you to the Town of Newtown, festival-goers, program book advertisers, and all the Festival volunteers – too numerous to name – for your time and effort. Your generosity helps to support the mission of the Center that aims to provide quality, professional mental health and family services regardless of ability to pay. On behalf of the staff, Board of Directors, and consumers of the Family Counseling Center, thank you for yet another successful Festival. See you at next year’s Holiday Festival – December 2, 2001!

Warm regards for a happy and safe Holiday Season,

Constance Huntington and Mary Harrington Tomasiewicz
