20th Anniversary ‘Nutcracker’

SOUTHBURY — Main Street Ballet’s Nutcracker, under the direction of Artistic Director Sibley Morosco, will offer its 20th anniversary performances of Nutcracker this month.

The production began from humble beginnings. It was first presented with a cast of six dancers, including Morosco family members and friends in Ms Morosco’s parent’s living room. A few close friends and family sat on dining room chairs in the cozy holiday atmosphere.

Today the production features over 150 cast members, over 300 costumes, and two full houses of community audience members who make the Nutcracker a holiday tradition.

Performances will be Saturday, December 13, at 7 pm, and Sunday, December 14, at 2 pm, at Pomperaug High School, 234 Judd Road. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 seniors and ages 7-21, and $12 ages 6 and under. Group rates are available.
