Saturday, December 6

Police Departments’ Food Drive, 9 am–2 pm, Big Y Supermarket, Queen Street, officers from Newtown and Redding Police Departments will collect nonperishable items and cash donations, to be divided equally between food pantries in both towns.

NUMC Monthly Pasta Dinner, 5–7:30 pm, Newtown United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road, $9 adults, $8 seniors, $3.50 children, full spaghetti dinner with salad, desserts, and soft drinks/coffee raises funds for church, all welcome, coffee house/musical event follows; 426-9998.

NUMC Coffee House, 7:45–10:30 pm, Newtown United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road, admission $4 for those attending earlier pasta dinner (see listing above), $5 otherwise, live bluegrass and folk music, refreshments, suitable for all ages; 426-9998.
