Mr & Mrs Daniel Vecchiarelli

Katherine Marie Woessner and Daniel P. Vecchiarelli were united in marriage on July 26, 2008, at St James Church in Stratford. Father Thomas Lynch officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at the Newtown home Lisa Goosman.

The bride is a daughter of Mark and Patricia Woessner of Sandy Hook. She was given into marriage by her father.

For her wedding day, Katherine chose La Sposa, a gown of Madrigal design, that featured Spanish lace in a halter style. She carried a bouquet of white and pink ranunculas, roses, and Gerber daisies.

Anne Jacocks of Danbury was the maid of honor.

Jennifer Bailey, of Baltimore, Md. (a cousin of the bride), Amanda Dube of Monroe, Shannon Solheim of Hoboken, N.J., and sister of the groom Katie Vecchiarelli of Sandy Hook were the bridesmaids. The maid of honor and bridesmaids all wore Ann Taylor Celebration Collection dresses in Pacific Blue. Their flowers complemented the bride’s.

Ron Parlante of Manchester was the best man. Ushers were Thomas Chickos of Shelton, Nakia Dube of Monroe, James Pihonak of Milford, and brothers of the bride Kevin Woessner and Michael Woessner, both of Sandy Hook.

In addition, Cara Bailey of New York City and Kerri Cronin of Severna Park, Md., were flower girls, while Jack Bailey, also of New York City, was the ring bearer.

During the reception, Katie, who is a senior dancer and teacher with Gray School of Irish Dance in Newtown, joined with other Gray School dancers to entertain the guests. A brief show concluded with the bride and maid of honor joining the dancers in a Four Hand Reel.

Following a wedding trip in Los Cabos, Mexico, the Vecchiarellis have returned to their home in Stratford.

Mrs Vecchiarelli, who graduated from Newtown High School in 2001 and then from Mount St Mary College, Newburgh, N.Y., in 2005, is a special education teacher for Bridgeport Public Schools.

Her husband graduated from Masuk High School in 1998. He then received his bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University in 2003, and received his master’s, cum laude, the following year. Mr Vecchiarelli is an elementary school teacher for Bridgeport Public Schools.
