New this year was a Multi-Chamber Networking Social, co-hosted by the Newtown, Brookfield, and Bethel Chambers of Commerce. The afternoon was filled with great networking with local chambers and fabulous food catered by Carminuccio’s, one of nine Taste of Newtown participants.

Back by popular demand, A Taste of Newtown enabled attendees to sample culinary favorites from some of Newtown’s best local restaurants. Taking part this year were Sal e Pepe Restaurant and Bar, Andrea’s Pastry Shop, The Villa Restaurant, Blue Colony Diner, My Place Restaurant, Tambascio’s, Mocha Coffeehouse, and Carminuccio’s.

Attendees also got the chance to receive their flu shot from the Newtown VNA, meet Storm from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, listen to a wide variety of music from the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, and venture through the Amazing Fun Bus.

The event was co-sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce, Taunton Press and The News-Times.

In other news, the local chamber is planning its annual Holiday and New Member welcome party on Tuesday, December 9, from 6 to 8 pm, at Sal e Pepe Restaurant and Bar. Attendance is encouraged by chamber members and those looking to join the chamber.

Angelo Marini, owner of Sal E Pepe, will be offering some of his tasty treats, including baked stuffed mushrooms, pasta, an antipasto platter, and other favorites.

To RSVP for the welcome party, call the Newtown Chamber of Commerce business office at 426-2695 by December 8. For other chamber information, visit www.newtown-ct.com or call the number above.
