To the Editor:

The Garden Club of Newtown would like to thank all our friends and neighbors who came out on a rainy Saturday to support our annual Holiday Greens Sale fundraiser held on December 6th.  We would also like to thank Sherril Paisley, manager of the Newtown Meeting House for use of the meeting room for our workshops and the chapel to showcase our wreaths and holiday items.  Thanks also go to Caraluzzi's Market for providing us with materials for our workshops. And last but not least, The Newtown Bee staff who again featured us in articles about our workshops and our sale.

The Holiday Greens Sale is the major fundraiser for the Garden Club which contributes to the Newtown community in many ways such as supporting the Newtown Scholarship Association, the Newtown Fund, and the Newtown Forest Association. The Club participates in the Victory Garden benefiting Newtown's food pantries and we also maintain several gardens around town including the historical Curtiss House dooryard garden, Barb's Trail garden, and the Veterans Blue Star Memorial.
