The pandemic has exacerbated feelings of anxiety and isolation and reduced opportunities for meaningful connection for those with disabilities, who are underserved and underrepresented in our society. Camp Wings of Friendship was developed as a direct response to the crisis impacting this at-risk population.

Camp Wings of Friendship is a collaboration between The Friendship Journey of South Florida and Dylan’s Wings of Change of Newtown. The nonprofit organizations connected by chance and began working together just before the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to a shared vision of a more compassionate world, the Parkland and Sandy Hook communities speak the language of loss.

The Camp became a family, and with the help of partners like Double Good, they have continued to offer free, virtual programming to support individuals of all ages and abilities. Since March of 2020, they have led 23 weeks of scheduled activities, 161 days of connection, and over 200 hours of love and friendship.

The year will culminate at the Camp Wings of Friendship Showcase on Saturday, December 12, at 7 pm EST, for a donation amount of a person's choice, for a night to remember.
