GRAYSLAKE, ILL. — Billed as the Chicago area’s premier monthly antiques and collectibles market, the grand exhibition hall at the New Lake County Fairgrounds, 1060 East Peterson Road, offers abundant space and easy set up. With 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, dealers have been filling it to capacity each month, bringing their best wares for the crowds of thousands of collectors, said promoter Bob Zurko.

Due to the increased demand for this antiques market, Zurko is expanding it to two days beginning in January. “Antique Market Dayz” will be the second Sunday monthly (as always), but will now include the preceding Saturday afternoon from noon to 5, as well as Sunday, 8 am to 3 pm. Two-day admission is $6 per adult; children 16 and under are free; and parking is free.

The expanded days and hours will afford dealers and collectors the flexibility to come on Saturdays or Sundays or both.

“Investing in antiques is like investing in fine wine — they only get better with age,” stated Zurko of Zurko’s Midwest Promotions, which is now entering its 40th year in the business. “Change comes to all markets and eras and as these changing times become more challenging, the market must change too. Antique treasure hunters will always be around looking for that one special item to add to their collection.”
